30 Days of Gratitude – Day Six – Women’s Vote

Today I am thankful that women have the right to vote in The United States of America.

Today marks the 23rd U.S. election that women have had the right to vote.

The struggle for the right to vote for women took 70 years.

The amendment was voted on by the Senate in 1919 and ratified by a sufficient number of states in 1920 and became the 19th Amendment on August 18, 1920.

Women still can’t vote in Saudi Arabia although a law has passed that will allow them to start voting in 2015.
