1) You never have to worry about having food that you can eat regardless of religious restrictions.
2) You don’t have to worry about finding a job in a certain location so you can be part of a religious community.
3) You don’t have to worry about having a flexible schedule to accommodate for time- based religious restrictions.
4) You don’t have to worry that you will be told you are being unprofessional because of the clothes you wear or personal practices related to your religion.

I’m not so sure elementary schools teach it anymore–even PUBLIC elementary schools.

They don’t even teach civics anymore in many states, which is just an obscene omission.

The_L, Thanks for the quotes. There were some I was not familiar with but I am certainly familiar with the fact that the U.S. is NOT a Christian nation and it always surprises me when someone thinks it is as it is a basic fact about our nation that is covered in elementary school.

Also, “No man can serve two masters” refers NOT to different gods, but to human greed. You cannot love both the Divine and money (and, while I’m not a Christian, I very strongly agree).

However, from my perspective, Mammon appears to have won, as evidenced by all the LifeWays and Family Christian Bookstores that use Christianity as a money-making tool rather than as a guide for living. When a person asks “Is such-and-such a Christian artist/musician/author?” the meaning no longer is “Does this person’s work send a Christ-like message?” but whether the person publishes his/her work through certain “Christian-approved” BRAND NAMES.

I suppose “Thou shalt not make of my Father’s house a marketplace” has a very different meaning to Christians than it does to everybody else.
